Mepa wo kyɛw, twa me mfoni
Please take my picture
Usage
Ask a passer-by for a photo at a sight. Mepa wo kyɛw makes it polite
Grammar Note
twa mfoni is "to take a photo", the same combination as in Metumi atwa mfoni? (may I take a photo?); the dictionary sense of twa is "to cut".
Mempɛ sɛ wotwa me mfoni
I do not want you to take my photo
Usage
Decline firmly when you do not want to be photographed
Grammar Note
Mempɛ is the negative of pɛ "want". As in Mepɛ sɛ me ne wo kasa, "sɛ + subject + verb" follows.
Mepɛ mfoni yi
I want this photo
Usage
Say this when you like a photo that was taken or is on display
Grammar Note
yi follows the noun and means "this".
